Is drinking a lot of sparkling mineral water daily just as good for hydration as drinking regular water?

mittens asked:

My 18 month old loves to drink Mineral water (sparkling- like San Pelgrino etc..).
I remember reading somewhere that it is bad but I can’t remember why or at what age you can allow it.
He drinks a lot of tap water so it is more of an added extra that he really enjoys. He also likes still mineral water.
Is it ok to give him?

I know you can buy 50/50 mixed already.

Would it make any difference if you used mineral water instead of regular tap water?

pretty sure, they are all drinking water, but do they taste different from another?

i used tap water for cooking, spring or mineral water for drinking and distilled for ironing. im just not familiar with their taste…plus im just curious to know if others can tell the difference….

I spent a few minutes in the bottled water aisle today at Wegman’s and the only mineral water I could find was either sparkling or flavored. I wondered if anyone knew where I could get just plain mineral water.

I just recently went up to Saratoga and collected natural sparkling mineral water, which happends to be riddled with sulfur.

Is there any way to remove most to all of the sulphur?

(Like using a coffee strainer?)

Thanks
